Area : 26,000 SFThe auditorium is a multi-purpose space for music and theater performances, lectures, event use, and educational presentations. The look and feel of the space is one of visual simplicity. A black and white palette is punctuated with purple seating, a welcome splash of color. Seats have armrests and are comfortable for adults and sturdy enough for children of all ages. The sophisticated tone includes finishes that were selected with durability and maintenance in mind.
The hall interior reads as a series of warping planes conceived as arches across the audience. MEP, lighting, fire safety, etc are all integrated above the ceiling plane for a quiet appearance that does not detract from performance. Our goal remains to have a well-functioning, beautiful space in keeping with the needs and mission of the BCM.
